The side of a car, in proximity to the fueling cap, would be a great place to show service information and car diagnostics, but it has been difficult to integrate a display for this kind of information in a convenient location.
A demonstrator side window was created using Corning® Gorilla® Glass and LUMINEQ transparent displays in cooperation with Magna, AGP Glass, and PPD.
Corning specializes in specialty glass, ceramics, and related materials and technologies.
A transparent Lumineq display was laminated inside the car side window with symbols and indicators for important car service information, such as washer fluid level, oil life indicator and tyre pressure warning.
